We have completed our fourth iteration of the Nash Graduate & Intern Training Program. This program was once again a great success both for our fantastic interns and the team at Nash. We take pride in nurturing the next generation of corporate advisers, immersing our participants in a two-week intensive covering all aspects of Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity.

“The Nash training program provided a valuable experience to learn about the processes involved in M&A. It was agreat opportunity to learn directly from the Nash team and hear from a range of industry experts. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to learn from others within the collaborative environment.”

– Emma Thornbrough, 2024 Nash Intern Program

Nash offers a unique mix of corporate advisory services and private equity investments, which are built into all aspects of the training program. With our dynamic team facilitating the materials, our interns had access to unrivalled industry insights. This was an opportunity to learn directly from a highly successful team working at the coalface of investment banking.

“Throughout the program, our trainees engaged in hands-on learning – working individually and in groups – to assess, analyse and act on real-world M&A deals, culminating in a final presentation to Nash’s Investment Committee.”

– Jack Geason, Senior Analyst, Nash Advisory

Our 2024 program followed a similar format as the last 3 years, with a practical deep dive into:

  • Business development
  • End-to-end deal process
  • Transaction document preparation – pitch decks, flyers, and information memorandums
  • Commercial, financial & legal due diligence
  • Financial modelling (3-way modelling and DCFs)
  • Business valuations
  • Private equity investments

We were also very lucky to be joined by a number ofdifferent guest speakers from all parts of the Australian corporate landscape, and we would like to thank Michael Abela, Stephen Thompson, Jeremy Bransgrove, Victor Ha, Oliver Mauldridge, Emily Stone, Stefan Harris, Michael Garry, Kevin Han, Paul Nagy and Alex Persley for their time and deeply valuable insights. Our interns were also able to experience the intricacies of starting and running a business up close, with an exciting site tour at JetCharge, where they got to speak with co-founders Tim Washington and Ellen Liang.

“The Nash training program gave us a great insight in to the end-to-end deal process of sell-side M&A. It was a fantastic, hands-on introduction to investment banking. Nash brought in a host of guest speakers with expertise's ranging from private equity through to wealth manage and there was lot to learn from each one.”

- Jock Mitchell, 2024 Nash Intern Program

At the conclusion of this year’s program, we were pleased to offer the opportunity to Emma Thornborough and Jock Mitchell to join the team as graduates, and we are excited to see them apply the skills that they learnt throughout the internship into our current live transactions.

“The mentorship at Nash has been invaluable in shaping my skills and perspective. The team provided guidance, support, and valuable experiences, I am truly grateful for the opportunities I've been given”

– Nancy Huang, 2023 Nash Intern Program

As we look forward to next year’s program, we are excited to continue our commitment in providing unparalleled learning experiences for young professionals.
