LGT Crestone acquires CBA’s personal advice business, Commonwealth Private Advice

Overview

LGT Crestone, a part of LGT Group, is one of the world’s largest independently owned wealth management groups. The business provides expertise in investment management and asset allocation, and is backed by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein.

Nash Advisory was engaged by LGT Crestone in July 2024 to advise on the acquisition of CBA’s personal advice business, Commonwealth Private Advice, which provides banking and wealth services to CBA’s ultra-high net worth and high net worth clients. Nash Advisory led the due diligence process in conjunction with PwC and Allens, and advised on structuring and executing the transaction, with transaction documents consummated in November 2024 and completion occurring in May 2025.

  • LGT Crestone acquired Commonwealth Private Advice, comprising c.$5b in FUA and a team of c.40 staff and advisors;
  • Nash Advisory project managed the due diligence process involving nearly 75 internal and external stakeholders across Australia and Europe; and
  • Close coordination with domestic and European management, Nash Advisory managed cross-border workstreams and ensured alignment on transaction rationale, valuation assumptions, and governance requirements.
